Visible Assets, Inc. Introduces the RuBee(TM) Development Kit for Rapid Design of Wireless Visibility Networks

Visible Assets, Inc. introduces an all-inclusive support, hardware, software, and licensing package to enable rapid RuBee (IEEE P1902.1) asset visibility network development in new application areas and new industries.

Straham, NH - May 15, 2008 - Visible Assets Inc. (Visible(TM)) is pleased to introduce the RuBee Development Kit (RDK) and licensing package. The RDK includes an IEEE P1902.1 license, RuBee hardware, software, and support required to carry out a new industry application pilot. The package includes Dot-Tag(TM) software systems and server, Sidewinders(TM) (RuBee Routers), RuBee wireless tags, RuBee antennas, and direct support from Visible to execute a single focused RuBee pilot in a new application or new industry area.

RuBee is a long wavelength, inductive (magnetic), transceiver protocol with field-proven ten‑year battery life, a range of 1 to 100 feet, and optional sensors, buttons, displays and LEDs. RuBee tags overcome many of the technological problems seen with RFID and other wireless solutions especially near steel and water. RuBee has been approved by the US Department of Energy (DoE) for use in high security areas. In July 2006, the FDA classified RuBee as a Non‑Significant Risk (NSR) Class 1 device for hospital operating room applications. In May 2007, a peer-reviewed study was published by the Mayo Clinic showing that RuBee has no effect on pacemakers or ICDs. RuBee is used in weapons visibility systems and asset management networks at the DoE, in numerous hospital asset management networks across the US, in livestock visibility networks, mobile asset management in service-based vans, and in mission critical tool visibility networks for aircraft maintenance. RuBee received the 2007 Logistic Technology of the Year Award from Frost and Sullivan.

"RFID becomes 'line of sight barcode equivalent" in harsh environments near steel, liquids, people, and animals. RuBee wireless produces a near uniform volumetric signal in harsh environments, has enhanced performance on steel, is unaffected by liquids and water, and provides reliable, real-time asset visibility with virtually no change in human processes" said John K. Stevens, Chairman and CEO of Visible Assets, Inc. "RuBee has no eavesdropping or tempest risk seen with other wireless technologies and we believe it has met the highest possible standard for wireless security in the US," Stevens continued. "RuBee has no human safety issues since it produces radio signals many millions of times below the OSHA and IEEE C95.1 safety limits. Finally, RuBee has commercially proven itself in many real-time, real-world visibility applications with large partner companies. We are excited about this new RuBee Development Kit, and think it will open new opportunities for smaller application-focused systems integrators as well as customer-driven application development."

About Visible Assets, Inc.

Visible Assets, Inc. is privately held, based in Stratham, New Hampshire, and designs, manufactures, and supports wireless real-time asset visibility solutions and networks based on the RuBee (IEEE P1902.1) pending standard. RuBee is highly secure, human safe, intrinsically safe wireless technology that works in harsh environments. RuBee tags have a range from 1-100 feet, are not blocked by steel, and are not affected by water. RuBee tags may be directly embedded into items such as weapons, mission critical tools, medical devices, cell phones, and products stored on shelving. Visible Assets provides integrated visibility solutions for a variety of markets though RuBee application partners, like Epson/Seiko and Sig Sauer. RuBee Visibility Networks are installed and working in numerous hospital sites, mobile service vans, livestock sites, integrated circuit production facilities, and DoE sites.
