5K Run to Headline "Week of Hope" in Support of HIV Vaccine Awareness Day
Runners, walkers, dogs and even strollers will unite at the 5th Annual Hope Springs Eternal 5K Race on Saturday, May 10. Held in support of international HIV Vaccine Awareness Day (May 18), this year's 5K Race will be part of the Week of Hope, hosted by The Hope Clinic of the Emory Vaccine Center. Among other events, including a film premiere, educational symposium and even a bike race, the Hope Springs Eternal 5K Race will support the opportunity to increase the public's knowledge of HIV/AIDS, vaccines and clinical trials. This week-long series of events raises funds for important community awareness-building activities and Hope's educational programs.

WHY:
This event raises funds for important community awareness-building activities and Hope's educational programs, including the targeted "Hope in our Soul" and "HIV Vaccine 101" series presentations throughout Atlanta. Monies raised from this year's efforts will help with the development of new programs aimed at young Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Queer/Transgender adults and African American women on their role in HIV/AIDS advocacy and prevention research efforts.
